Getting to the Okertalsperre and the Oberharz is child's play:

By bus & train:
Your nearest train stations are Goslar or Bad Harzburg. From there, buses run at regular intervals to the Upper Harz to the Okertalsperre and to Schulenberg. Please find out about departure and arrival times directly from the Deutsche Bahn AG timetable information.

By car:
You can reach the Okertalsperre from the north or from the south.

North approach:

From the direction of Goslar (B6). After leaving Goslar, follow the road in the direction of Oker. Follow the main road and leave the town southwards on the B498 in the direction of Clausthal-Zellerfeld / Osterode. After approx. 4 km you will pass Romkerhalle with the well-known 60-metre-high waterfall of the Kleine Romke on the left. After another 4 km you will reach the main dam of the Okertalsperre. South approach:

From Osterode (B243/B241). Leave the town on the B241 in the direction of Clausthal-Zellerfeld. Drive through Clausthal-Zellerfeld until you reach the northern end of the town. Shortly before leaving the town, turn right in the direction of the Okertalsperre (B498). After approx. 6 km you will reach the dam.
